Experience:

Dr. Hampton is an aquatic ecologist with research interests ranging from animal behavior to community and ecosystem ecology. She joined NCEAS as Deputy Director in May, 2006 after several years on faculty at University of Idaho. While she remains involved through her students in some field research on deep lakes in the Pacific Northwest, much of her energy is presently focused on the analysis of globally distributed long-term limnological data sets. Dr. Hampton's core expertise is in plankton ecology, but her diverse field experiences – from SCUBA diving on coral reefs to exploring tropical forests – have heightened her appreciation for and enjoyment of the wide variety of research fields represented at NCEAS.
